The Practical Driving Test

The practical test lasts 40 minutes in which time you will be required to demonstrate everything you have been taught in your driving lessons. You need to show you can drive competently and safely in different driving situations.

You will need to perform 2 of the 3 reversing manoeuvres that you will have practiced with your instructor and you may be asked to perform an emergency stop. You will also need to answer two vehicle safety check questions, one 'show me' and one 'tell me.

You can see these questions in the 'show me / Tell me' section of this site and your instructor will go through these with you to make sure you are prepared for the test.
